Sickle cell disease is an inherited condition that affects the red blood cells. It is characterized by the red blood cells becoming sickle shaped and stiff. Who inspired HappySoul?
HappySoul was inspired by Myiah’s late auntie LaMetra Moody who fought with Sickle Cell Disease most of her life. Sickle Cell can be extremely painful. One thing Myiah remembers about her Aunt, is that even throughout her painful cycles, she still went through life with a smile. LaMetra always set a great example for Myiah and her sister by always finding ways to give back to the community and help her family. Myiah wants to continue that legacy by giving back to a group that can help others in similar situations.
